In Seattle there is Paul Allen's Experience Music Project but last night (or as I hit snooze this AM) while it has escaped me now, my project was more "fair and balanced".  Something about red, blue and purple, not to joke* about dreams. Experienced Medium Project was not what I was going for, but may be the way I roll.**

"That" is not "it", means that the President meant they did not build the infrastructure not their businesses. Obama, a liberal cause?

Is that an attempt to slur the candidate? By posting this myself, I fall into some reinforcement of the frame that either are bad. They are not. But I will concur with some of the kudos that Chris Cillizza in Fix Pick: Obama, the New Gary Hart? gives to Matt Bai in A Candidate Not a Cause. Of the two articles the latter's comment "For Obama, this might argue, going forward, for replacing some of the rallies and rhetoric with more substantive speeches and interactive town halls." is on the mark. The former's title like my title reinforces a link to pieces of "liberal" history, Gary Hart, and in the article Bill Bradley. I was a supporter of both, as well as Howard Dean, another name thrown in.

Barack Obama is the only candidate I have seen in person, so I can relate to the experience of hearing his inspiration, and seeing it in others. But it probably is the demographics that those who have had experience with these earlier campaigns and may be more active in the process, do have more questions and expect more.

Meanwhile those independents and the media who may have been expecting more all along without having or appreciating the work it takes, see something new. As for Hillary, it has been noted elsewhere that she did change her tune and began taking more questions, while Edwards has been all along. As they point out Obama did in Iowa, but less so in New Hampshire.

I might also note that I have seen Joe Lieberman give a mildly rousing speech and look how he turned out. There could be a more experienced and jaded demographics than in the past.

Talk about inspirational. That was the the early knock on Obama and even Clinton, both of them. The issues matter even more than ever and so will the medium.

Will the issue be about the presidential candidates? Or is this more of the same, hit and run. But it does matter who the VP is. But even more for who.

(?) in my last post I contemplated a question mark I did not use as a hint or asterisk. Here I use it in conclusion. What matters and whose issues. Not to mention change or flip-flop. This is the first test of leadership for the new Democratic ticket.

[Brilliant Timing: It seems the Palin pick is to burst a bubble that is not. It flip-flops or unvets several of McCain's attacks, not to mention highlights a bubble that can blow it for us all.]

What I mean by MoJo is that they may pick a Joe Biden like* candidate. Of course that might be too broad a generalization, I mean someone with legislative experience, of which Paul Ryan, Rick Santorum, or Newt Gingrich might fit, but I mean an other-than-Romney type. But who am I to endorse** a Republican?

Coming across this blogger, by doing a Google on Military Support Bush or Military Poll to find that Karl Rove is right, there are no links to (at least easily found) showing lack of military support for Bush. * But I did not find Rove's outlandish quote that "the troops get what they want and need". It seems that justifies what the administration says if they have the same sources and carefully navigate the intelligence.

On the other hand, I found some preemptive comments that may have played a role or seen the Rove role change coming or cause it. The latter first: Take it to Karl The former earlier: Karen Hughes: Karl Rove’s Kryptonite Oops, two years too early. Seen what coming or caused?

Bush should have been awoken much earlier, and we tried. Seriously, the guest comment, not that she is aware of my blog, hit a few points, Rove, the trooops/ Iraq, and Hillary with a few good links that I have yet to read, and will save comment for later. Suffice to say that it takes some filtering of the filter and there is more than fertilizer in them there hills, or links.

Oh heck I will touch on a few: Rove is a heck of a filter of fertilizer and the media as well. His comments on the troops, and his comment on Hillary, navigate though or pile on the fertilizer to some reality. And on "the surge", another cautious step through the piles of it.

Major Deal of Minor Gotchas

A matter of direction and degree.[a matter of reading and trust]

Not to mention media. My QCON (Quick Comment On the News) relates to the matter of how campaigns can spin and while it seems tit-for-tat or pass the buck to staff, sometimes there are reasons that matter. It is clear that while Burner does not have the degree in Economics, it is not clear*that she did not say anything other than a "degree in it". (Note my QCON has no Capital T for "the", and she may never have used a capital E in Econ.) Now this may just seem like a funny aside but recall I have noted a bearing on the difference in humor for them and us**.

But just the facts ma'am, Reichert's bio has now been corrected to reflect the AA rather than the BA which nonetheless would have been acquired in two years from '68 to '70, while it has been clarified that Darcy Burner does have a four year degree (meaning a BA) described as "a computer science degree from Harvard with a "special field," or emphasis, in economics."

Now is this much ado about nothing? Well it is ironic that the Sheriff was exaggerating what would seemingly have distanced himself from Joe the Plumber, while Darcy Burner was trying not to emphasize the degree of complication in her background. In reality she is the one with the business experience while he the life in government.

A Democrat of similar mind to whomever comes up with this mud, could wonder if there is not some exaggeration of the Sheriff's honorable record. I however will be honest and say that I have not verified a lot of it. Like his 20 year quest for the Green River Killer, while only being sheriff 8 of his over 30 years in law enforcement. I won't cast doubt on that record, but really is it something to brag about, that it took 20 years that is? It is at least stick-to-it-iveness, but nevertheless, still not the mud that matters.

[Bottom line: like punchline? NOT! But to serve the people. They both have records that can be admired but is there any irony in this matter of degree? It is a matter for forensics that it has taken so long for one and the other so little to go so far. It would seem that it is not debatable that the devil is in the details and how they are handled matters. While these seem minor details, they should be a clue to success.***]

to Rachel Maddow (nfry*) on getting her new show on MSNBC. Rachel refers to herself as a liberal not a partisan. Righteously so.[*] It is really hard to criticize Rachel, but she is the perfect flip-flop of Pat Buchanan. He is sometimes valid in his criticism of Republicans and praise or suggestions for Democrats, only the better to eat you my dear. Said the wolf to Little Red Riding Hood. While Rachel may be the same for Democrats, only the better for the country.** (Embedded in these asterisks are references to their work. Earlier encounters with Howard Kurtz, long time agitation by Pat Buchanan and recent enthusiasm tempered with caution for Rachel. Let me just say that her liberal enthusiasm and hopes may be cast as negative shadows on the pragmatism needed for progress.*** But criticism of Democrats and our process, taken in the right light, can be good for all.)

The logic of perspective and experience demonstrates the dynamics of interpretation. The framing of the question under the dynamics link almost makes moot the need to follow the arguments that supposedly "demolish" the supremacy of the courts, yet seems to demostrate the spirit of the law over the letter of the law. That being the dymamics of the power to the people and the foundations of justice in the constitution. It seems that it is only in the lack of the people to call into question a law that it not find itself before the court.
[And before one points out that there is no spirit of the law in the constitution, neither is there the word "letter" or "balls or strikes", let alone "policy" or "corporation", except in the privacy policy of the web page.] Without the spirit of the law as interpreted and argued by all three branches for the people, there is no foundation or principle let alone moral high ground for our exceptionalism.]

Of course this is cherry picking here. Maybe the simplicity of the media and the subtitled words "beyond race" is merited. But how can we not feel that the simplicity of the media and the current leadership is not ignored as well. Now is that not a double-edged sword that makes so much harder?

Complexity or simplicity or just untimely? "Letter from a Birmingham Jail"

We must use time creatively, and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right. Now is the time to make real the promise of democracy, and transform our pending national elegy into a creative psalm of brotherhood. Now is the time to lift our national policy from the quicksand of racial injustice to the solid rock of human dignity.

Update

Since my sabbatical began, a lot has happened. Palin is trying to escape from hot water, Cheney is finally getting warm and the CIA has its own bubbles, while Supreme Court nominee Sonja Sotomayor begins her confirmation hearings.

[There seems to be a misuse of words and wise old men and wise old women in the attack on Judge Sotomayor which is actually an agism. For it is context that matters and wisdom is hard to pin on age. In fact it is hard to deny that experiences are a key ingredient in wisdom if not related to age.]

[Jeffrey Toobin CNN: "applying the law is not a judicial philosophy" after defending the right to decide confirmation on ideological differences, yet it seems similar to the judicial philosophy of the right. Republicans sure can complicate meanings, like having your cherry picked apples and oranges cake and eating it too.]

It seems the Summary Judgement hinged on the Second Circuit Court getting it back, and that it was a 5-4 activist court which did not rely on precendence. The only 9-0 would have been if Sotomayor and the Second Circuit would decide the issue rather than the Supreme Court. It might even be said (per curiam) that we have a failure of trickledown and a slippery slope in the ability to act.]

[It might now be clear that for Sessions experience is prejudice.]

GOP-GAP

NOT!
Whether it the Grand Old Party or the Grand Oil Party there is no GAP filled by Governor Palin. OK, some executive experience. And she's human, they had to say.

OK, maybe we are both stretching things a bit. But this is serious. She did a fine job presenting a fine speech and a fine life story, after Reverend Rhetoric ** presented his fine rendering.

All in all it was a fine show that was very inspiring to the base who have faith in something beyond facts.

Governor Palin[*] has an inspiring way about her. It is the energy and her certainty that is her strength. Unfortunately, her selection seems to be aimed at the Plexiglas ceiling. There may be cracks in it, but when you are on top, you can say anything and still be standing on it. My original panic was that Biden's fire and humor would be tempered against a woman. But given her own fire and humor, and my original panic being sexist, he should give her all he's got. They are already complaining about the media, and unless she expects some affirmative action or pity, she should be able to stand on her own.

[*][9-4-08: Heck, even the above link has fallen for the flip-flop on the press ***. Granted the press was in McCain's corner or they were off the plane and missing the barbecues. (I have no confirmed reports of either.) [I watched most of what I watched on C-Span, and bounced in and out of MSNBC, but did catch a bit of grousing about the timing of the speeches, not allowing for the media filtering. While I did not watch equal amounts of the two conventions or networks, they were probably right that the speeches were more tightly timed, but it seemed that MSNBC had filtered and missed several of the Dem ones anyway. So I could not tell if MSNBC gave equal time or equal filtering for both convention's speeches. Imagine, the convention speeches were getting in the way of the pundits "filtering". I noticed with the first convention the flip-flop, but they actually brought it up. Deleted reference to "moose gun" here. Audience: Aahhhh. Sarcasm there, but to the point, I don't know if the media is falling for or intentionally validating, the whining that comes from the Good Old Patronizing Party, but I think the brilliant selection of Palin was to preempt and to stay the course.]

The eleventh anniversary of September 11th had not yet passed when it was announced[^] that American embassies were under attack. 

Over this lede is the heading*[^^] that we need to turn around.***  It is bad enough that business is not the experience we need in the executive branch, but it certainly is not the same as diplomacy.** 

And foreign policy is really up there when it comes to trickle-down on the bottom line. But it really is more of a climate study with seeds of clouds so to speak and not passing the buck.[^^^]

(7-24-15) NFRY SEGWAY:  Prior to the Sandra Bland "tragedy"*, I had my own experience with a traffic stop.  I was going 48 in a 35, on 4th of July, just outside Mount Rainier National Park. (So the officer told me.)  Actually I wish I could recall how he framed his initial comments in the form of a question.  I was completely accepting of his information, although my wife thought it may have helped if I had thrown in a "sir" here or there.

What occurred to me later, was what form of answer was I expected to give.  I mentioned having just pulled over to allow tailgaters to pass and had just pulled back into traffic and maybe been concerned about those that may be about to replace them, not remembering the speed had been reduced from 55mph.  Actually I know I am now recalling it more carefully, than I probably framed the answer at the time.  The point is whether it is a practice to frame charges in the form of a question?  Of course remembering the question and giving an accurate answer may be beside the point.  Are there appropriate answers that would change the situation?  Thankfully several inappropriate answers or questions did not occur to me.
